At Fjellskål, quality isn’t just a goal – it’s a family tradition. What began as a simple stall at the Bergen Fish Market in 1976 has grown into one of Western Norway’s leading seafood destinations.

Founded by brothers Øystein and Ragnar Fjellskål, Fjellskål has been part of Bergen’s seafood scene for nearly 50 years. Their passion helped shape not just a business, but a local legacy.

In 2012, the whole family came together to open Fjellskål in the newly established Mathallen. This marked the beginning of a new chapter – a transformation from fish stall to full-fledged seafood destination.

Today, the second and third generation of the Fjellskål family proudly continue that journey at our location in Mathallen Bergen. Still rooted in tradition, we blend experience with innovation to offer unforgettable seafood experiences – from the freshest catch to warm hospitality.

From our live shellfish tanks and fresh seafood counter to our relaxed waterfront restaurant, everything we do is driven by a love for great ingredients and honest craftsmanship. Whether you're here to enjoy a seafood platter with a view or take home the catch of the day, we’re proud to share the same passion that’s been in our family for generations
